Using Nighthawk App

The Netgear Nighthawk App (formerly Up app) makes it easy to set up your router and get more out of your WiFi. With the app, you can complete your Netgear Nighthawk AX12 Setup in a few steps – just connect your mobile device and the app will walk you through the rest. Once set up, you can use the intuitive dashboard to pause Internet on your connected devices, run a quick Internet speed test and much more.

Netgear Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream WiFi 6 router comes in two different models:

• AX11000 RAX200
• AX6000 RAX120

You can use your router in bridge mode to connect multiple devices at the faster 802.11ac speed. To do this, you need two WiFi routers: one set up as a router and the other set up in bridge mode.

To set up bridge mode:

1. Make a note of the WiFi settings of the other router to which this router will connect.
   You need to know the SSID, WiFi security mode, wireless password, and operating frequency (either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
2. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device.
3. Type http://www.routerlogin.net.
   A login screen displays.
4. Enter the router username and password.
5. Click Advanced Setup > Wireless Bridge.
6. Click the Setup Bridge Mode Wireless Settings button.
7. Enter the settings of the other router:
8. Select the wireless network frequency (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
9. In the Name (SSID) field, enter the wireless network name (SSID).
10. If prompted, type the passphrase (the WiFi password that you use to connect with WiFi to the router).
11. Click the Apply button the settings for the other router are saved.
12. Click the Apply button on the Advanced Wireless Settings page.

The below-mentioned steps will be your guide for Netgear Nighthawk Setup – AX12 using the Nighthawk application:

• Connect the provided antennas to the Netgear Nighthawk AX12 router.
• Also, connect the modem to the internet port of your router.
• Turn on the router and let the LED lit.
• Now take your mobile device (Android or iOS), open the Play store/App store.
• Search and download the Netgear Nighthawk application.
• After the download, open the Nighthawk application.
• Execute the on-screen instructions for your Netgear Nighthawk AX11000 / AX6000 setup.

Manual Method of Installation

For users’ convenience, we have sub-divided the complete Netgear Nighthawk AX12 router setup in two modules – Setup Step A and Setup Step B respectively.

Setup Step A- Netgear Router Configuration

Prior to the Netgear Nighthawk RAX120 / RAX200 setup, you need to physically connect your router using these means:

• Remove any cables connecting to the modem. Plug in the modem power adapter and check the power light to ensure the modem is on.
• Connect the modem to Netgear Nighthawk AX12 AX11000 RAX200 or AX6000 RAX120 router.
• Connect the Netgear Nighthawk AX12 12-stream router to a computer.
• Plug in the router power adapter and check the power light to ensure that the router is on.

Setup Step B: Netgear Router Login

• Connect a computer to the Netgear router and launch a web browser.
• Visit http://www.routerlogin.com. If http://www.routerlogin.com does not work, contact the experts.
• You are prompted to enter a username and password. Enter the default login credentials.
• Click or tap Log In.

The BASIC Home screen displays.
